poems – Kate Gordon

Woman
She picked a daisy
She received a bouquet
She made an egg

Women
Computer Alerts
The washing and ironing too
The treadmill cycle

Woman
She was five
She became sixty at knots
She is still a woman

A native of Clare, Kate Gordon is a poet living in Waterford. With a keen interest in visual poetry, during the lockdown she became increasing aware of poetic videos. Coupling music composed and performed by her family with the beautiful vistas of the Buren, her poem “ Fisherman” comes to life. Drawing inspiration from childhood recollections of her father fly fishing, she now reels us in with lines etched in the memories of dolmens, flora and fauna of the Buren limestone landscape.
