Transatlantic duo Dan Allison (London, UK) and Jody DeSchutter (BC, Canada).
Reconfigured field recordings, synths, vocals, homemade instruments and loops scaffold or entomb DeSchutter’s Dada-esque words, allowing the listener to co-navigate the landscape.
They fuse spoken word poetry with soundscapes/music. Jody (BC Canada) writes and performs the words and Dan Allison, make the music/sounds. Jody’s style is very much built from her influences of west coast beat poetry but also Sylvia Plath and Laurie Anderson. Their debut album released last year was picked as one of the tape releases of 2020 by the Quietus.
