Billy Fenton lives in South Kilkenny. His work has been published in the Irish Times, Poetry Ireland Review, Irish Independent, Crannóg, Honest Ulsterman, Abridged, Crossways, and many others. He was shortlisted for a Hennessy Award in 2018, the Fish poetry prize in 2021, and was chosen as a mentee for the Words Ireland National Mentoring Programme in 2019. He was appointed poet laureate for Carrick-on-Suir by Poetry Ireland for Poetry Town 2021.
