Cashel Arts Festival, Print Van Go and Michelle Moloney King

Hi, Editor here (Moloney King)

Just popping in to share about the arts and South Tipperary.

Cashel Arts Festival

Suh a line and stellar events, from kids’ events, to printing, to experimental poetry, sand sculpture, and visual arts with a pop-up gallery. Most of the events were free, donations welcome, some were open-air and some socially distanced inside but all were well done.

I was asked to hold an experimental poetry workshop in The Chapter House, above the pop-up gallery. Eight eager souls turned up and I put them through their paces of art history, grounding them in the theory. It really was a beautiful setting in which some great work was created, some of which is below and some are on Beir Bua Journal.

Print Van Go

I finally got to meet Aoife Barrett from Print Van Go at her workshop for kids. Barrett is a visual artist and print artist. The workshop involved rubber stamps, inks and printing. My toddler loved the event. I am lucky to have seen Barrett’s broadsheets, some of which I turned into visual poems and well…we collaborated and there have been stamps created with the visual poem.  And more exciting collaboration to come. The image to the left is their own creation and logo. Follow them on Facebook.
