Michael Hartnett Poetry Award Competition

Deadline: 17 Jun 2022

The Michael Hartnett Poetry Award will be opening for submissions in late April for their 2022 poetry competition.

This year, the award will be for collections of poems in English. The award will be made to the winning poet on the basis of a third, or subsequent book of poetry, published in the last two years, i.e. 2020 – 2021.

The Michael Hartnett Poetry Award is jointly funded by the Arts Council and Limerick City and County Council in conjunction with the Éigse Michael Hartnett Committee and will be presented at the annual Éigse Michael Hartnett in Newcastle West in October.

This year’s adjudicators are Kerry Hardie and Peter Sirr, both past recipients of the award. Publishers will be contacted with full details in April when the call-out for submissions officially opens.
